Outpost 42 is a long standing community of friends who enjoy playing Half-Life deathmatch in a fun and friendly atmosphere. The server has always been about chaos, laughter and not taking things too seriously.
It all started with Tuffy’s Server, where many of the original members first met. This later became Gits Fun Place, hosted by Ghost, which was a wonderfully chaotic and hilarious server and really laid the foundations for the community we have today. If you want to feel old, you can still have a look at the old Gits Forum on the Wayback Machine and see some familiar names.
Eventually it became Outpost 42, which we believe was originally set up by Mudcat, and it has been our stomping ground ever since. None of us can remember the exact timeline anymore, which probably says something about how long ago it all was, but we have been playing together for more than 20 years now.
The server disappeared for a while as life inevitably got in the way, but nostalgia eventually brought us all back together. These days Outpost 42 is also home to Bubble 25, my updated version of the original Bubblemod, along with the usual mixture of strange maps, ridiculous deaths and people who have been playing Half-Life for far too long.
You will find various resources, player statistics and links to our community around the site. If you want to say hello, ask a question or arrange a game, you can also join the Outpost 42 Steam Community.
Most importantly, jump onto the server and give Wilee E Coyote a proper thrashing. He has somehow managed to keep the fort held all these years and is becoming far too comfortable.
